The National University (UNAM) Murals Tour - A World Heritage Site
IWC partners with Understand Mexico to bring you a fun walking tour.
Tour is rescheduled to April 11, sorry for the inconvenience. The university is closed for 2 weeks for the Easter holiday. Therefore, the tour is being rescheduled.
Details: The UNAM is Latin America's largest university (in both physical size and population). It has a sprawling campus in the southern edge of Mexico City dotted buildings covered by impressive outdoor murals authored by Diego Rivera, Juan O'Gorman and David Siqueiros among other famous artists.
These monumental mural will be the focus of our tour given that they reflect a long gone image of Modernistic Mexico in the '50s, also a legitimate form of protest at that time.
CU (an abbreviation for Ciudad Universitaria = University City) was declared a World Heritage site by the UNESCO in 1987, and you will easily see why as we stroll the extensive grounds, exploring the mosaic samplings of outdoor "art for the people,” scattered along the campus.
When: Wednesday, April 11th, 10 am to 1 pm.

EACH TOUR COSTS $400 PESOS SAME DAY PAYMENT OR $350 PESOS PRE-PAID.
The cost of the tour does NOT cover transportation or entrance fees.
